Transitions Salon is among the top salons in the Farmington area, serving people of all colors and ethnic backgrounds.  Its services include women’s and men’s cuts, styles, and color, permanents, press and curl, and all types of weaves, braids, twists, and locs.   

In the fall of 2004 Transitions Salon moved to its new location in Farmington Hills, at the corner of Twelve Mile and Middlebelt Roads.  The salon is in the Rainbow Square Plaza, directly across from the landmark Ginopolis restaurant.

Transitions Salon is an innovator, and has pioneered several services, such as Men’s Day every other Sunday and Women’s Only Day, booked by appointment, for women who need to let their hair down, and have it put back up again, in respectful privacy.

Owner, founder, and master braider, Wanda Morrison, a native of Detroit and a now a resident and active member of Farmington Hills, is a licensed Natural Hair Culturist.  Her passion for natural hair care and quality and friendly service led her to develop the concept of a salon that helps women and men make healthy transitions in their hair styles.  At Transitions Salon, whether a customer is changing their hair style or maintaining one, Wanda’s focus is always on healthy hair and happy people.  

Transitions Salon is a family business.  Wanda’s husband, Bill, and her daughter, Danielle, are supporting the salon both up front and behind the scenes.  You will often see them at the salon.  

Transitions Salon has a great and growing team of professional and friendly braiders, stylists and receptionist, including Arleen, Tina, Tonya, Niani, Astu, Ida, Amy, and Kimberly.
